About Us

Who We Are

Our vineyards have deep roots in time, starting with the arrival of our grandparents in Crete, from the coasts of Asia Minor, and the Caucasus.

Crete, this melting pot of cultures, in the best way assimilated the refugees of that period and adopted the new cultivation practices they brought.

Creta Vinifera, now a third generation producer, is gradually moving on to vineyards in privately owned vineyards in the municipality of Archanes Asterousia with confidence in the potential of the indigenous varieties, and a great passion for Assyrtiko.

Our MISSION

Creta Vinifera produces wine from grapes, which are cultivated, harvested and processed according to family traditions.

Our goal is the production, bottling and sale of wines that best represent the special Cretan Vineyard throughout Greece and abroad.

Our priority, quality, as expressed in our philosophy, to provide the consumer with products that we would choose to consume.

Crete Island has tremendous experience and traditions of winemaking transmitted from generation to generation. Crete wine traditions exist for over 4,000 years. According to the studies of the ancient finds in the area of Kato Zakros, the oldest grape vine and the wine press in Archanes had age more than 3,500 years.

Having such a rich history, Cretan Wine is closely related to the life of the inhabitants of the island. And here in Crete, the most ancient traditions of winemaking are very harmoniously combined with introduced new technologies. Studies are conducted and varieties of grapes are carefully selected to maximize the benefits of hot climate.
